Deborah Jacobvitz Earns 2025 Bowlby-Ainsworth Award
The award recognizes her exemplary research on attachment theory and other areas of family relationships.

Deborah Jacobvitz, Phyllis L. Richards Endowed Professor in Child Development at The University of Texas at Austin, has received the 2025 Bowlby-Ainsworth Award from the Center for Mental Health Promotion and the New York Attachment Consortium.
This prestigious award was given to Jacobvitz for “groundbreaking research on disorganized attachment, frightening parental behavior, and family relationships, and her unwavering support of Mary Main.” Mary Main was an American psychologist who focused on attachment theory. Jacobvitz’s research focuses on the links between family relationships, emotions, health and development, including attachment security throughout life.
